COVID-19 is more serious in older people and in people with certain underlying health conditions. For these reasons, people aged 75 years and over, those in care homes, and those aged 6 months and over with a weakened immune system are being offered a spring dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

What is NHS Pharmacy First?
We are able to assess and treat patients for sinusitis, sore throat, earache, infected insect bites, impetigo, shingles and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women under 65, without the need for a GP appointment or prescription where appropriate. Or help refer you to the right place if the issue needs reviewing by another healthcare professional.
What do you need to do?
- If you have symptoms that suggest you may have one of these conditions, you can now walk into our pharmacy and be offered a consultation with the pharmacist. Under the new service pharmacists can provide advice and, if clinically necessary, will offer an NHS medicine to treat it (NHS prescription charge apply if you normally pay for medicines supplied on prescription).

We are always trying to make it easier for you to manage your medication. So that you know when it is ready at the pharmacy we can send you a Text Message (SMS) to a mobile phone or a Voice Message to your home phone. It will leave a message on your answer phone if your out. It’s simple and FREE. If you would like to sign up, please just ask a member of staff and complete the form.
Its that time again! Your Government has decided to tax you again if you are ill. The cost of your medication if you have to pay is increasing to:-
- £9.90 per item
- £19.80 for a year HRT PPC
- £32.05 for a 3 month PPC
- £114.50 for a 12month PPC
This does not go to the pharmacy, all of this TAX goes to the your Government. I'm not sure what they use it for, but it does not go to fund pharmacy and#pharmacythings we do.......
