We will be running limited Vaccinations Clinics at both Clare Pharmacy and Haverhill Health Centre for the Spring 2024.  You can also just drop in when convenient and we will endeavour to complete your jab as soon as we can (as long as we have Vaccinations in Stock).

Am I eligible for an Spring 2024 Covid booster?

COVID-19 is more serious in older people and in people with certain underlying health conditions. For these reasons:-

  • People aged 75 years and over
  • Care homes patients
  • Those aged 6 months and over with a weakened immune system
    • We are able to vaccinate for 12yrs

are being offered a spring dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

How does the JCVI define a Immunosuppressed risk group? 

The Greenbook – IM criteria define who is in a clinical risk group.

Clinical risk groups for individuals aged 12 years and over include:

  • Individuals with primary or acquired immunodeficiency states at the time of vaccination
    due to conditions including:

    • Leukeamias
    • Lymphoma
    • HIV/AIDS
    • Stem Cell Transplant in last 24 months
  • Individuals on immunosuppressive or immunomodulating therapy at the time of
    vaccination including:

    • Immunosuppressive therapy for Solid Organ Transplant
    • Received in the previous 3 months targeted therapy for
      autoimmune disease
    • those who were receiving or had received immunosuppressive chemotherapy or radiotherapy
      for any indication in the 6 months before vaccination
  • Individuals with chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease who were receiving or
    had received immunosuppressive therapy prior to vaccination including:

    • High dose steroids +20mg of Prednisolone for more than 10 days in the month preceeding
    • Long term steroids +10mg form more than 4 weeks in last 3 months
    • Immune Modulating Drugs
      • (+20mg Methotrexate/Azathioprine/Mercaptopurine/Mycophenolate)
    • Individuals who had received high dose steroids (equivalent to >40mg prednisolone per
      day for more than a week) for any reason in the month before vaccination

Please bring evidence as to your inclusion criteria to allow us to confirm you vaccination status.  If we are unable to confirm this at time of appointment then we may have to decline to vaccinate.
